€44,000 awarded in the Foundation’s 2020/2021 Small Grants Competition
€44,000 was awarded in the Foundation’s Small Grants Competition this year. In all, 33 successful initiatives will receive funding from the Foundation.
Through this competition, now in its 15th year and which is open to all members of SJH staff, the Foundation supports projects and initiatives which will enhance the patient experience.
This year, the Foundation’s Grants Committee has approved grants of between €500 and €2,500 for purchases and initiatives. This year’s successful applications ranged from rehab equipment, clothing for vulnerable patients (increased demand due to Covid), equipment for wards to funding to produce educational videos including to Trinity St James’s Cancer Institute (TSJCI) to produce a short video to share the lived experience of a cancer diagnosis and cancer treatment within St James’s Hospital as told by cancer patients.
