Run the Liberties
Former long distance runner and World Cross Country Champion Catherina McKiernan officially launched the St James’s Hospital Foundation Liberties Fun Run today. The annual 6km fun run, which is now in its 7th year, starts and ends in the historic Royal Hospital Kilmainham and is one of the few road races that Dublin City Council permits. Participants will pound the cobblestones of Dublin’s Liberties taking in James’s Street, St. James’s Gate, St. Catherine’s Church, Thomas Street, the National College of Art and Design, Francis Street, The Coombe and the Guinness Storehouse on July 16th from 7.45pm. Funds raised will go towards world-leading lung cancer clinical research and patient treatment at St James’s Hospital. Pictured is Catherina McKiernan and former winner Dr Orla Drumm.
